Kanye West

A trio of hit albums, a bold attitude, and a habit of being just a little outspoken all have played a role in helping make Kanye West a superstar. His debut album "The College Dropout" (2004) was hailed by critics for being a milestone original concept in the hip hop genre. His subsequent albums "Late Registration" (2005) and "Graduation" (2007) have received similar positive buzz.

Controversy has a way of following Kanye. During 2005's televised concert to raise money for Hurricane Katrina victims, West spoke off script saying, "(President) George Bush doesn't care about black people." He has also been critical of a number of music awards shows.
