Wedding Blog: One month in

I've been keeping track of the days I work out on my calender in the C95 control room... as you can see I've been doing not bad. I really enjoy the dance classes at Goodlife (BodyJam, Zumba and Sh'Bam) so it hasn't been that hard to get to the gym for those. Weight training is another story, I usually get bored and distracted by a hangnail or untangling my headphones cord.

Yesterday I had my one-month check-in with trainer Dave Fontaine.

Cinco de Mayo eats!

May 5th is the perfect day to make Mexican food at home. We'll be having a regular Canadian-style BBQ but I wanted to incorporate a few south of the border dishes to spice things up. Try subbing in these sides alongside your burgers or steaks.

Instead of corn on the cob try: Esquites

Wedding Blog- Getting Peeps on the Dance Floor

A survey of thousands of wedding playlists has revealed the top 10 wedding dance songs. Some I am down with- some are weird. Like Kings of Leon? I love them but I don't think I've ever danced to that song at a wedding. BEP's I agree with. That's a great dance-starter.

Top Wedding Songs

1.)  "I Gotta Feeling",  The Black Eyed Peas  (2009)

Wedding Blog- You want me to do HOW many pushups???

Every bride wants to be in the best shape of her life on her big day, and of course I'm no exception. So I joined Goodlife Fitness in the hopes of toning up. They offer a free health assessment to new members, and since I was interested to see just HOW out- of- shape I was, I signed up.

I was met by Personal Trainer Dave Fontaine. Dave is a nutrition and wellness specialist who works with clients to help them lose weight, build muscle and basically transform their entire physique. He looks nice. Do not be fooled, he is a cruel taskmaster ;) .

RHOV- Who's watching?

The Slice show Real Housewives of Vancouver premieres tonight. I'm going to watch it.

I really like the original RH series, Orange County. Beverly Hills is my second fave. Not a huge fan of Atlanta, New York, New Jersey, or the short-lived D.C version. I find the California installments feature the most interesting and glamorous women.

Wedding Blog- The Avg. Wedding Costs Whaaaaaat?

We did a topic on the Rob and Shauna Show this week: the average cost of a Canadian Wedding nowadays. And guess what it is?!? I would have thought about $15 k.

Arts and Crafts Porn

Yes, that is what I describe Pinterest to be. For those of you who haven't experienced it, let me tell you. It's basically a website where you browse hundreds of delightful photos and videos of recipes, fashion, DIY projects, design ideas and more. The ones you really like, you can pin on your own virtual boards.

Who should we pick??

So excited that C95's new Bachelor is about to be chosen! We have narrowed it down to our top four contenders- and they each would make a great Bachelor!

A Family's Wish

We had a ton of families apply for C95's Christmas Wish program- unfortunately. That means a lot of local families aren't having much of a Christmas this season and were hoping for a little help. We wish we could have picked them all. But we could only select one deserving family, and we chose Sara and her four kids.

Happy Almost New Year!

  • PARTY TIME!!! Or not. New Year's Eve is always a weird night. I usually want to dress up and do something fun, like hit one of the city's many club parties or events but then I remember that it's usually hella cold. And there will be lots of drunks. And that I won't be able to get a cab in a million years.
