Age Scandal

Been hearing alot of complaining lately about the Chinese women's gymnastic's team...and their age.
Alot of people believe China is using girls that are too young for the Olympics.
So whats the problem here? Okay. Maybe they are younger then they say they are. Lets then pretend that these girls are 14 years old and not actually 16 like they say there. Should that not be an advantage for everyone else? If youre 21 years old and competing against 14 year olds should you not be beating them every time? I dont care what it is...gymnastics...hockey.....riding a bike....candy eating contest...if youre getting beat by 14 year olds you need to start doing something else.

playing devils advocate
Cary you also have to realize that a 21 year old competing against a 14 year old gymnast means that they also have 7 years of less abuse on their bodies which can explain some of the loss. Flexibility may remain as you age in that sport but as said above "lack of fear", injuries, and AGE definitely play a role in this sport.
I was thinking that their
I was thinking that their "benefit" of having younger competitors is that they younger they are...the less "fear" they have. Like they aren't as "afraid" of falling off the parallel bars, therefore they go for bigger risks because they don't understand the risk of breaking their neck if they fall (not that I am saying older ppl are afraid of falling, maybe just differences in seeing the risk). Also, younger athletes may not realise the importance of the olympic games, and so they aren't as stressed about their performance and thus perform better.
I don't know, just some ideas. Either way, if they are under what the rules say, its still wrong.
too bad
who cares if they are only 14..
no one cares about how old you are in the olympics, as long as they are good.
suck it up buttercup.
