Beach Volley'bods

Heard Rob and Shauna this morning talking about beach volleyball at the Olympics. Or more importantly....what the women are wearing while playing beach volleyball...which is next to nothing.
I've read arguments that these "uniforms" are the least restricting things these girls can wear and thats why they like wearing them. Ive also heard the argument that it can get incredibly hot on those beach courts and these "uniforms" keep the girls cool. Blah blah blah blah blah.
The reason these girls wear these "uniforms" is because sex sells. Its as simple as that. Theres a reason womens beach volleyball gets higher television ratings then mens beach volleyball...and youre looking at it.
Im not even gonna lie. If these girls werent wearing these "uniforms" there is no way i would ever watch a beach volleyball match...ever. I think the President would agree.

I feel that wearing such skimpy "uniforms" is doing nothing for the athlete, therefore they should get rid of the uniform altogether, heck why not the divers and gymnasts too. Seriously though I wonder what the Olympic rules are. I read on the net that there are specific outlines for the "uniforms" in beach volleyball.
No doubt it does not hurt the viewing ratings to have the bikinis.
In WTF teakwood for example, before it was an Olympic sport, head kicks were allowed in competition only with adults and the points were the same for a head kick as a body shot. Since becoming an Olympic sport the head kicks are now worth more points and in any competition you go to in Alberta etc. kids are allowed to kick to the head. The point being is that for many years the rules in tae kwon do had not changed and now they have --- to make it more exciting and "viewer friendly” for the Olympics. While we are on the Olympic rant -- why is golf not an Olympic sport? Compared to some I think it should be--Thoughts?
