Moment of Truth

Can’t see myself ever watching another episode of “Moment of Truth” again. Last nights show was a complete disaster and it’s unlike anything ive ever seen on a game show.

Lisette Gonsalez was the contestant and seemed pretty sure about herself.

“Do you regret breaking up with your ex-boyfriend?Do you trust your boyfriend? Are you secretly happy that your mom lives far awayDo your breast implants make you feel powerful?”

Answered all those questions and a few others reaching the $100,000 mark.

“Would you like to continue?” they ask. “Yes I think I will” she replies.

-“Have you ever had sexual relations to further your career?”

-“No.”

-“That answer is a lie.” Just like that she loses $100,000.

“No. It’s wrong. The lie detector is wrong” she says.

Which is entirely possible considering lie detectors aren’t 100% accurate….which kind of defeats the purpose of the show doesn’t it. I was wondering why everybody was giving up once they reached 100K. Now I know. You may be telling the truth…but why risk it?

“Is Moment of Truth any good?”

“No!”

That answer is…True.

I do LOVE this show, and I

I do LOVE this show, and I think it is a great concept. I HATE dishonesty, and I love nothing more than to see dishonest people being exposed. Unfortunately, the world we live in today, the majority is dishonest and are afraid of exposure. I think that is why so many people "hate" this show, because they see themselves in the contestants.

Do I feel better about myself at the end of the show? No, but I don't feel worse either. It's a show for chrissake, why should it affect a viewer's mental and emotional state?

Game shows suck loooool

Game shows suck loooool

I ABSOLUTELY LOVE THIS

I ABSOLUTELY LOVE THIS SHOW!!! I LOVE TO SEE PEOPLE GET CAUGHT IN THEIR WEB OF DECEIT. IT SHOWS YOU WHAT'S REALLY GOING ON IN THIS NARCISSISTIC WORLD. LAST NIGHT'S CONTSTANT LIZETTE GONZALEZ WAS A SLEEZ, AND SHE TOTALLY PLAYED HERSELF. SHE DIDN'T MIND EXPOSING OTHER PEOPLE, BUT ONCE THE QUESTION WAS BASICALLY ABOUT HER, SHE COULDN'T BE HONEST BECAUSE SHE CARED TOO MUCH WHAT PEOPLE THOUGHT OF HER...BWAAAHAAAHAAAA..THAT EMBARRASSED LOOK ON HER FACE WAS PRICELESS, I THOUGHT IT WOULD ATLEAST KNOCKED HER CROOKED MOUTH IN PLACE, BUT UNFORTUNATELY, (FOR MY EYES), IT DIDN'T.

Your a big contributor to

Your a big contributor to what's wrong with the world today, anybody who has to watch a show about people in their problems to feel better about themselves should one day look in the mirrior and quit rationlizig with themsleves.

Damn gameshow!!

I watched that as well last night, and seeing her reaction, it then dawned on me, that the game show is only going to let them get so far and then whether he answer is actually true or false, they can limit how much money is given out. It's a big scam, and i do see why everybody stops at 100k.

I didn't see before that they could have limit how much you get and really how are we going to know what is true or false... you know...

I agree. I think it's set up

I agree. I think it's set up and totally retarded. My dad is a Private Investigator and does lie detector tests on people quite frequently. For it to be even remotely accurate, the person must be in a secluded area that isn't common to them (like a hotel room) and not have any interactions with anyone else. In the show, things like the people around them, the stress of being on the show, and the host, can easily alter the test. The show is retarded and absolutely not close to what a real lie detector test would be like.

key to the show...

If there were ONE remotely intelligent person on that show, their strategy would be to just answer any question that could ambiguously be bad as if it were definitely bad. It's the same cathartic emotional release as if it were a true confession, because there's no feeling of telling a half-truth. So, "have you ever had sexual relations to further your career?" Assume she had flirted with a designer, or went on a business date and kissed the designer, etc...this wouldn't really be having sex of course, but a sexual relation? The answer, I think, is "sort of." Which produces a lie if you answer in the negative. So you're stuck admitting something that you didn't do, because you can't give "sort of" as your answer, but then explain the hell out of your answer (the show lets you explain if you'd like).

And they can tell friends/family their strategy so their relationships don't have to be ruined - hopefully they will be believed, because it really is true that any ambiguous question/answer will make them lose the money, so better to admit to something that is only sort of true than to deny it (rightly) but lose the money.

Just my $.02

Agreed, however...

Hey there! I totally agree with you. Haven't been a fan of the show since I watched the one episode that they almost didn't air. Anyways, prior to actually being in front of the crowd, host, and family, the contestants are hooked up to a lie detector in a private room without cameras. The results are then recorded and the questions given to the host in a random order. Once the contestant answers, they have "that answer is...........true/false".

Just a point of information, not disagreeing but yea! Take care.....
