Ducks, Mr. Hockey, and a camping trip (and sad Randy Pausch news)

Regular listeners to the show will remember me telling the story of Joel in Spokane who saved a bunch of baby ducks. Mother duck built her nest on a downtown concrete awning. Mr. Hockey was in the building. I've met Gordie Howe three times in fifteen years. Of all the celebrities that come through he is always gracious and humble. Nice, nice man.

Kinda looks like I snuck into the photo. And, I have to learn to be a better photo poser. Shauna always looks great. I always look bad.

I am camping the next four days in Cypress Hills with my two sons -- no mother/wife. What does that mean? We're living without adult supervision. For the next few days I am living on white bread Dorito sandwiches and orange pop.

Just in this morning and I thought I would add it. Randy Pausch has died. Randy was the Carnegie Mellon professor who was diagnosed last year with pancreatic cancer. He gave a very inspirational Last Lecture which is easy to find online and because of the internet phenomenon he wound up giving and abridged version of his last lecture on Oprah. There are lots of versions on YouTube my favourite is HERE (10 minutes long). I find it very inspirational. A really healthy reminder about getting your priorities right. Warning, you will cry.
