Ex Observations

I took my kids to the Ex yesterday. I didn't do much. Basically, I stood by while they rode rides for five hours. Sometimes while they were in line I would slip away to get food -- noodles, beer, beef on a bun, pizza, and doukhobor bread. Here are my observations:

(1) The big prize is, again this year, a functioning mini-motorcycle. Since it is impossible to win, though, guitars are the most likely "big" prize. I saw one kid with an actual solid-body electric.

(2) Shortest lineups -- Starship and "Chair on a Chain" are the shortest lineups.

(3) Most deceptive lineup -- The Zipper. There are two lines and they look short but the Zipper is slow to load so the lines are A LOT longer than you think.

(4) A new ride -- Drop of Doom. I love the Drop of Doom. I don't think it was here last year.

(5) I hate candy apples. C'mon, it's the 21st centuty. On the other hand... Deep Fried Cheesecake. I said, Deep Freakin' Fried Freakin' Cheese Freakin' Cake.

(6) Man fashion -- Young men are making no effort. None. They either do nothing or they remove their shirts.

(7) Woman fashion -- Young women, on the other hand, are spending A LOT of time thinking about their Ex outfits. I am fairly sure that many are not wearing what they were wearing when they left home.
