Flood pants and butt cracks

Rambling Dave's picture

Recently my lovely wife intervened to stop me from continuing to wear a particular pair of jeans that were too short. I sort of knew that they were too short but they were close and I kept convincing mysely that they were OK. Fortunately, Heather intervened to save me from myself and my floods have been retired.

Then yesterday I was walking into the Education Building on Campus and I was following a guy who’s pants were too short. Not close. Not borderline. These bad boys were flying a good three inches above his shoe tops. The pants were black casuals, the shoes were black casuals (almost runners but not quite), and the socks were grey.

I spent the lunch hour swimming and thinking about his pants. I eventually concluded that there are three possibilities:

(1) He knows that his pants are too short and he doesn’t care;
(2) He is so oblivious to fashion that he is unaware that his pants are too short: or
(3) He wears them too short on purpose because he thinks they’re awesome that way.

This is similar to men in sweatpants with butt crack showing.

Is it that they know their hairy crack is showing and they don’t care? That they are unaware of the exposure? Or, they think it’s very cool and alluring?

Bacon update!

Hi Dave,

Not sure if you read the Reena's household hints article in the Sunday Sun, but at the end of this Sunday's article were some tips about bacon! The one that sticks out in my mind is to run it under cold water before cooking to reduce shrinkage (contrary to the Seinfeld episode dealing with shrinkage...). It also mentions saving your bacon grease for--drumroll please--bacon soap!! The idea got me curious and I was able to find this: http://www.instructables.com/id/How-to-Make-Bacon-Soap/

Bacon grease soap

When I was a kid our family friend Mrs. Goche made bacon soap. It never worked very well.

I will totally try the bacon rinse. I am going to do some bacon on the smoker tomorrow night.
