No Idol??

CTV has announced that due to budget cuts there will be no Canadian Idol in 2009. I'm trying to decide if I think this is a bad thing or a good thing. On one hand it is the number one t.v. show in the country and I likey the t.v. On the other hand, the talent has been a little thin for the past few seasons. The best season was when our own Theresa Sokyrka was in the finals and Jacob was in the early stages of putting together a master plan to get great exposure for his band, Hedley, while begging viewers to NOT make him the winner so he could escape the Idol contract ASAP and go on to front one of Canada's hottest bands.
Since then it's been kinda weak. Maybe a year off will replenish the eligible contestant pool and we will find another Jacob. But, for now, this might be for the best. What do you think? Will you miss the show next year?

I think it's a good thing...after last year. I think they have exhausted the talent pool for singing...they need to take a couple of years off. I can't even name anyone that was on Canadian Idol last year...it was so bad I didn't even watch it. The year with Jacob and Theresa was the best one for sure but Eva A is doing pretty well. Maybe they should leave it up to the dancers for the next couple of years!!

Hi Rob,
I agree, season two of Canadian Idol was the best. That is actually the only season I ever watched, I think because Theresa went all the way.

Thank God. Canada has such very little little singing talent, its almost embarrassing to have these 'celebrity' musicians and singers come on the show and have to deal with that!! How's the wrist Rob?

I don't even remember who WON canadian idol.. and i watched it! LOL. Enough said.
