Tropic Thunder and Muppet Madness

This weekend I witnessed one of the funniest, yet saddest moments I have ever seen. Shauna and I hosted "Sesame Street Live" at Credit Union Centre on Saturday afternoon. I think Shauna was more excited than my 3 year old daughter, Alyssa. After a quick backstage party with "Zoey" from Sesame street, Shauna and I went up to the stage to introduce the show. Just before the curtain opened, Bert appeared beside the stage. He was getting ready to start the show and talking to a stage hand. Shauna nearly shot out of her shoes waving and yelling "hi Bert...hi Bert! Sadly, Bert turned, looked, furled his eyebrow (it's a uni-brow, of course), turned and walked away. That's right, Shauna was totally snubbed by Bert from Sesame Street. She turned back around and looked at me like a little kid who just lost her favorite teddy bear. It was sad for a moment, then really, really funny.
My daughter loved the show. We all got to meet Zoey before the show. Here's Alyssa and Zoey and Shauna and I with Zoey.
I also went to see Tropic Thunder with Craig the Movie Geek. You can check out his blog for his thoughts. Me, I thought it was one of the best comedies I have ever seen. I think it will go down as a classic. It does, however, have some very offensive scenes in it. The use of the word "retard" was protested heavily by advocacy groups, but I think it was one of the least offensive things in the movie. There are some really over the top gore scenes. If you offend easily, don't see it. If you can "let it go" and just enjoy the envelope being pushed a little, then you'll love it.

cute
Rob I have to say that your daughter is absolutely adorable!!!!
Tropic Thunder
One surprise of watching Tropic Thunder....I am know a fan of Tom Cruise again.
His role made the price of admission worth it.
