The DL On Self Tanners: LiLo Listen Up!

Lindsay Lohan may not want to bank on her new product putting her back on easy-street.
Her self-tanning lotion, Sevin Nyne, is getting beat up pretty badly. I haven't used it myself so this isn't first-hand info...but many "testers" reveal it left them looking super-hardcore orange, streaky, smelling funky and sticky. I thought it was supposed to smell like a coconut?
That all being said...people do like to knock LiLo down.
But it got me thinkin-- are there any good ones out there?
Or can you tell when someone's used a self-tanner no matter how expensive it may have been?
I use them from time to time. I've tried all kinds but I always wind up getting streaky hands after.
Self-tanner lines are listed as one of the Worst Summer Faux Pas according to Glamour Mag.

Foster, that one you showed me is actually pretty good. At shoppers, the Life Brand gel-self tanner in medium. Not fool-proof, but smells okay, and doesn't seem to streak as much.
I don't trust anything that is not a gel because you can't see where you've applied.
The Natural Glow builders
The Natural Glow builders are the best, as it subtly develops a tan instead of instant orange. My fave is the Mary Kay one!!

I gave up on self tanners a few years back. I really like the natural glow daily moisturizers and use one every day. It develops a much more normal tan look.
