The Only Dog More Popular than Marley

The movie Marley and Me was top… uhhh… dog, through the holidays, beating out Brad Pitt in Benjamin Button and Adam Sandler in Bedtime Stories with over 110 million bucks in less than 2 weeks. But be warned I hear it’s caused as many tears as its made dollars. I love dogs, LOVE ‘EM! The Obama family has arrived in Washington, and while most of the news of the day is centered around Sasha and Malia's first day of school, let's not forget about another important item on the family to-do list: choose a puppy. Or puppies, as the case may be. A source with ties to the national branch of the American Kennel Club source says that there's a good chance that the first family could ultimately decide to get two dogs at once. The source says, "A dog from a shelter is almost a given, but there's the problem of shedding and Malia's allergies. Getting a second dog at the same time, one that is purebred and has the least chance of shedding, hasn't been ruled out. It's a good solution that will make everyone happy, most of all, Malia."

TWO PUPPYS! That’s a slippery slope, imagine taking home only 2 of these guys... 

I assume they’re getting a golden retriever. Seems like the way to go, don't you think? What kind of dog should the first family should get?
