Here's your Summer Blockbuster Movie rundown!

Here's the list of movies to watch for this summer!  Is there anything you want to see?  Anything you DON'T want to see?

May 2nd --- Iron Man – The Marvel comics legend gets the big screen treatment with Robert Downey JR setting down the crack pipe to play Tony Stark.  The key to comic movies is the director and writer “getting” the material, and director Jon Favreau has a great track record for this.  (Saw it!  4 and a half Dorks out of 5 on the Geek-o-Meter!)

May 9th --- Speed Racer – Wachowski Brothers --- starring Emile Hirsh and Christina Ricci --- based on the anime cartoon.  The look of the movie is brilliant, but I’m not sold on the rest of the idea...especially after sitting through that last Martix movie.

May 16th --- The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian --- I fell asleep during the last one.  It seems like after Lord of the Rings, all this epic fantasy got greenlit, but the more CGI orc battles that I see now, the more tired I get.

May 22 --- Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull --- 20 years after his last adventure, the old man in the fedora is going strong.  Hopefully Lucas doesn’t screw this up with his bad writing and overenthusiastic use of CGI.  Luckily Spielberg should be able to reign him in.

May 30 --- Sex and the City --- the ladies are gonna love this one!  I hope it retains the quality of the show and doesn’t just end up another crappy romcom.  It could be fun.

June 13 --- The Incredible Hulk --- Edward Norton gives this Marvel franchise a reboot playing the big green smashing machine.  I’m not sold on the trailer, but you can bet I’ll be in line to see it.

Also June 13th --- The Happening --- M. Night Shymalan’s new film about a science teacher played by Mark Wahlberg who is trying to figure out why the world has suddenly gone crazy.  M. Night has a lot of ground to make up for after the horrible Lady in the Water.

June 20th --- Get Smart --- Steve Carrell plays Maxwell Smart in this spy spoof movie.  Anne Hathaway plays Agent 99.  Normally I would hate this kind of thing, but I dig Carell, and the trailers don’t look too bad.

Also June 20th --- The Love Guru --- a new one from Mike Myers.  I’m torn on this one --- some of it looks funny, and some of it looks like jokes I’ve seen 3 times already in the Austin Powers movies.

June 27 --- Wall E --- this Disney Pixar movie about the little robot that could looks great.  It probably will be great.  Now I can stop having to buy my nephew crap from the stupid Cars movie that he’s obsessed with.

July 2nd --- Hancock --- Will Smith as a lazy superhero with Jason Bateman as his PR Manager.

July 11 --- The Dark Knight --- Christian Bale, Heath Ledger, Aaron Eckart --- directed by Chris Nolan.  Batman fights The Joker.  ‘Nuff said.

July 12 --- X-Files: I Want to Believe --- Mulder and Scully are back in the second feature film based on the hit TV show.  No alien conspiracy this time though --- they are using the “Monster of the week” formula --- X-Philes used to call these a ‘standalone’ episode, as opposed to the alien themed ‘mythology’ episodes.

What do you want to see?
