If you consider yourself a movie geek and a foodie, and you'll be in Saskatoon on Wednesday July 9th, you'll want to check out Taste of Broadway!  It's a fundraiser for the Broadway Theatre, where they'll serve fine wines, incredible food from some of Broadway's top restaurants, as well as a special screening of a famous foodie movie, Tampopo --- the first Japanese Noodle Western!

This sounds like an amazing event!  Tickets are limited, so you best get yours right away!

Here's a poster for Tampopo:

If you've never heard of this famous cult flick from the 80's --- here's the skinny:

This Japanese comedy begins when a pair of truck drivers, an experienced one named Goro and a young one named Gun, happen onto a decrepit roadside fast food stop selling ramen noodles. The business is not doing too well, and after getting involved in a fight, the heroes decide to help the young owner, Tampopo ("Dandelion"), turn her establishment into a paragon of the "art of noodle soup making".  The story follows several other food related sub plots, hilarious satircal vignettes, like someone learning to eat spaghetti the way the foreigners do.

It's a famous cult movie that did very well in the 80's in both Japan and North America!  Many Japanese ramen houses claim to be the inspiration for the one in the movie, but none have ever been able to prove their claim.

You don't want to miss this event!
