A walk-in COVID-19 vaccination clinic in Regina ran out of doses well before its scheduled closing time Monday.

In a tweet just after 2 p.m., the Saskatchewan Health Authority said the clinic at the Glencairn Neighbourhood Recreational Centre was full and its line was closing.

The clinic originally was scheduled to be open until 3:30 p.m.

There are to be more walk-in clinics this week in Regina, to be held at the Argyle Park Community Centre (Thursday and Saturday, 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.) and the South Leisure Neighbourhood Centre (Friday, 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.).

Other walk-ins scheduled for this week are set for Kipling (Thursday, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., Kipling Rec Centre), Martensville (Wednesday and Thursday, 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m., Northridge Centennial Community Centre), Moosomin (Tuesday, noon to 8 p.m., Moosomin Communiplex) and Ogema (Thursday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., Heritage Hall).

Drive-in clinics are scheduled for Regina (Friday and Saturday, 8:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m., Evraz Place), Saskatoon (Friday and Saturday, 8:30 a.m. to 8 p.m., Prairieland Park), Lloydminster (Monday and Wednesday, 9 a.m. to 7:30 p.m., Exhibition Grounds), Warman (Saturday, 8:30 a.m. to 8 p.m., 501 Centennial Blvd.) and Yorkton (Thursday, 11:30 a.m. to 7 p.m., St. Mary’s Cultural Centre).

The age of eligibility to receive a COVID vaccination fell to 29 and older on Monday. It’s to drop to 26 and over on Wednesday.

Those who are eligible can attend a drive-through or walk-in clinic, they can make arrangements through a pharmacy that’s participating in the vaccination pilot project, or they can make an appointment online or by phone.

Keep on trucking

Changes are coming to the vaccination clinic for truckers and essential oil workers at the Saskatchewan-North Dakota border.

Starting Wednesday, the clinic at Drayton, N.D., will be open between 10 a.m. and 6 p.m. on Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays.
