ENTRY PERIOD:

Nominations Open: Monday, May 11 at 12:00:01 am (CT)

Nominations Close: Sunday, June 7 at 11:59:59 pm (CT)

Tell us about a teacher you know that goes above and beyond.

Eligibility:

No purchase necessary. This is contest is open to early education, elementary, and high school teachers from Saskatoon schools and the greater Saskatoon area.

Prize:

$2,000 (“Prize”) to be put towards a well-earned, end-of-the-year REST & RELAXATION. Plus, $500 (“Prize”) to for their classroom.

Selection and Notification of Winner:

One grand prize winner (“Potential Winner”) will be selected from all nominations by a panel of Contest judges after the nomination closing date (June 7, 2026).

Selection criteria for Potential Winner is based on the written content of the nomination received. Eligibility of all entries will be reviewed and confirmed by the Contest Organizer. The Contest Organizer’s decisions are final.

The Potential Winner will be presented with the Prize by the Contest Organizer, and the overall prize value of $2,500 will be issued in the form of a cheque.

In the event the Potential Winner does not accept the prize as awarded, and/or does not comply with all provisions as contemplated in the Contest Terms, the Contest Organizer shall have the right to disqualify the Potential Winner and select an alternate Potential Winner from nominations at the Contest Organizer’s discretion.

SASKATOON TEACHER, Mme. Lorianne Brown, AWARDED C95 TEACHER OF THE YEAR

C95 presented a Saskatoon teacher with C95 Teacher of the Year award.

Mme. Lorianne Brown, a grade 7/8 teacher at Ecole St. Peter, was this year’s recipient. Mme. Brown’s teaching career spans 24 years, she has been at St. Peters for the past 7 years. She is beloved by her co-workers and students. Mme. Brown was shocked at being named Teacher of the Year. She was grateful and humbled by the recognition.

“I don’t even know what to say. I’ve been teaching here for seven years; I’ve had lots of students and I love you guys. I do. I love my students. Thank you for bestowing this on me. I just can’t even imagine. I thought I was getting fired.”

Mme. Brown’s grade 7/8 class was with her for the award presentation and eagerly showed their appreciation for their teacher.

“Mme. Brown makes every child feel seen. It doesn’t matter if they have different ways of learning, she will help them with what they need and make sure they understand. She also makes learning incredibly fun. It truly is a blessing to be in her class for even one year, it changes your perspective on learning and school. I hope this shows her we care.” wrote current student, Emmy Yantz, in her nomination.

C95 received hundreds of nominations at C95.com from students, parents and coworkers from Saskatoon and greater area. We are thankful for all those who submitted nominations. We loved hearing about each of them. Every teacher is deserving.
