Saskatchewan raises $643,156 for wildfire relief in one day
On Thursday, June 12, Rawlco Radio partnered with the Canadian Red Cross for a powerful 12-hour Saskatchewan Day of Caring for Wildfire Relief, and the response was incredible.
In just 12 hours, Saskatchewan donated $643,156
That total includes a generous $300,000 donation from Nutrien. Every dollar raised will be matched by the Government of Canada.
Throughout the day, Rawlco Radio’s six stations in Saskatoon and Regina shared emotional and inspiring stories from evacuees, first responders and community leaders, shining a light on the devastation and the resilience of people pulling together across the province.
A message from Rawlco Radio President Pam Leyland
“Saskatchewan is an amazing province filled with generous people,” Leyland said. “The Saskatchewan Day of Caring for Wildfire Relief was incredible and showcased what we do best, pull together. We will continue to support our neighbours affected by the wildfires here at home.”
Donations are still open
Funds raised will help provide emergency financial support, shelter, supplies, and long-term recovery to people and communities affected by Saskatchewan’s 2025 wildfire season. The donation link will remain active through the weekend at redcross.ca/SKDAYOFCARING
